❑ Connect a propane tank to the regulator to prevent insects from entering the hose.

Relocate When Possible (Portable Heaters):

❑ The best protection is to move it to a dry, sheltered location when not in use, especially during the off-season or when severe weather is expected.  A garage, shed, or covered patio/porch is ideal.

❑ Ensure the ground is well drained to prevent rust and corrosion of the base.

❑ Strong winds can tip over patio heaters, causing damage or even fire hazards. If leaving the heater outdoors, position it in a sheltered area, perhaps against a wall or fence, to act as a windbreak.  Keep the base weighted.
